Say one good thing about yourself...
Unlock & Scroll.

Proof Aloud locks the apps that eat your life until you say one positive thing about yourself out loud. It takes six seconds, and it will probably change your life.

Android. Free to use, 5 unlocks a day, no account. Currently in closed testing.

you get your evenings back positive self-talk that works you hear it again months later

How it works

Locked, one question, then it is yours

01

The apps stay shut

Pick the apps that pull you in. They stay locked, and Home tells you blocking is on.

02

One question, out loud

Open a blocked app and it asks you something small and specific about yourself. Answer out loud, or type it if you would rather.

03

Your message, kept

The apps open for as long as you chose, and what you said is saved in your own voice. Months later it is still there.

The part nobody else has

Proof Aloud gives you your own voice, months later.

Your own voice, months later

Every unlock banks a few seconds of audio next to a written transcript. Thirty days on, Proof shows you what you said back then beside what you said today. Hearing yourself be fair to you, months apart, lands differently than a streak counter.

Small and specific, on purpose

Every prompt asks about one moment today, never about the whole of you. Repeating big statements about yourself tends to backfire for the people who need them most, so the app never asks for one. It asks what you did, and it praises that.

Never a punishment

Streaks do not reset to zero. There are daily passes for when you genuinely need your phone, and using one costs you nothing. Nobody is scored here.

Your voice never leaves your phone

Recording, transcription and storage all happen on your phone. There is no account, nothing you said is ever uploaded, and the transcription works with the wifi off. Optional backup goes to your own Google Drive, not to us. If you subscribe, Google and our billing provider handle that, and they only ever see the purchase, never a word of what you recorded.

Straight answers

Questions people actually ask

Can I get past it if I really need to?

Yes. Take a pass, or type your answer instead of speaking. It is a decision you made earlier, not a lock someone else put on you.

Does my message go anywhere?

No. It is private on your phone. Recording and transcription both happen on the device, and nothing you say is ever uploaded. The only thing that leaves the phone is a subscription check, if you buy one, and that carries no part of what you recorded.

Is this therapy?

No. It is a habit and screen time app that happens to use positive self-talk as the way in. Saying one good thing about yourself is the unlock, not treatment. It is not therapy, medical care, or a crisis service, and it never claims to be.

What if I hate hearing my own voice?

Most people do at first. You never have to play anything back, and typing works everywhere speaking does.

What if the blocking just stops working?

Then Proof Aloud tells you. It checks on itself through the day, and if your phone has put it to sleep or a permission got switched off, you get a notification with one button that fixes it. That is the thing that quietly goes wrong with app blockers, and you should hear it from us rather than notice it at four in the afternoon.

Do I have to turn on an accessibility service?

No. A lot of blockers need one. Proof Aloud does not, so that is one less deep permission to hand over. It does need usage access and permission to draw over other apps, and it tells you exactly why before it asks.

Will the free version get worse later?

No, and that is written into the terms rather than left to good intentions. Nothing you have already set up will move behind a paywall, what is free today stays free, and if you buy the one-time version it stays bought.

Do I need to be able to do pushups, or buy something?

No. Some blockers make you do pushups or tap a gadget you bought. Speaking works whether or not you can do a squat, and there is nothing to buy first. In a meeting or a quiet room, type it instead. That choice is yours every time and never made for you.
